On April 1, 2014, Protecting Access to Medicare Act of 2014 became law.  The law repeals the Affordable Care Act’s annual deductible limit of $2,000 for single and $4,000 for family coverage in the small group market.  This change allows small employers more flexibility when setting deductibles.

No effect on small plans is expected in 2014 because many plans already started their 2014 plan years when the deductible limit was originally in place.
